A major storm has hit "Santa's Village" at the North Pole. They say about 100 feet of glittery snow dropped last night and as you can see, everything is covered. The snow is so crisp and white it actually glistens and it's blinding here. I hope you guys can manage to see between the whisps, billows and mounds of glitter (oops, I mean snow) that has landed on the rooftops, down the lane, through the forest, and on the trees.

I must say even though the temperature has dropped dramatically and we are snowbound, the view is quite stunning. Everyone is running around in their fleece p.j.'s with cups of cocoa in hand, tape and wrapping paper are stuck to our slippers as we run around trying to get everything perfectly wrapped. We are feasting on delicious chocolate and sweet candies which is dripping off our faces. Candy canes are properly hanging from the hundreds of decorated trees here and mounds of gifts are waiting to be wrapped. All in a day's work at "Santa's Workshop"! Christmas is almost here and we are having the time of our lives.

There are still so many more treasures to complete and so much work to get done in just a few short weeks. I have to run for now and get back to my crew (no crew really, just me ~ lol), but I will be making a huge announcement soon. So hang in there kiddies and enjoy the glittery storm.

FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO READ THIS.

I received this email this morning and felt it was important
not only to forward it to five people, but instead share it with all of you!

IN honor of women's history month and in memory of
Erma Bombeck
who lost her fight with cancer.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck?
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).?

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and
more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.' There would have been more 'I love you's' More 'I'm sorry's.'

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute.look at it and really see it...... live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!

Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.
Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us!

IT'S A VERY MAGICAL TIME FOR TREASURED HEIRLOOMS!

My husband and I cannot describe the sheer excitement and unexpected privilege to have our holiday home featured on the cover of the December issue of "Romantic Homes". I had no idea until a friend received an early copy and called me screaming with excitement, that our magical home made the cover. Once I began to breathe again, she informed me that they had written a 10-page article and each page was beyond words.

I knew our "Magical Candy Themed" decorations were really sweet and pretty, but I had no idea just how amazing they looked until I received my copy of Romantic Homes yesterday. As I said to my DH (Mike), "I can't believe we actually live here".

It is pink and dreamy inside our home and outside in our English cottage garden, but what makes it all that more important is that he and I made this magical place "together".

Throughout the hardships that fell upon me during my life, I believed that if I stayed the course, treated others with kindness, lent a hand when necessary, and putting the lives of those less fortunate before myself, one day I would be "blessed" and I would be the "receiver" of joy and all that is good. This is my proof that "dreams do come true" to those who patiently wait. Just when you least expect it, there it is.

I hope I have inspired you all to continue on your path and that you too receive the joy that I have received this past year. I also want to thank a few of the following creative ladies who sent me such amazing creations in the "Holiday Swaps" last year. They too have been mentioned in the "Marketplace" on Page 89.

"I Believe"
a Fairy Poem

I walked down my garden, and guess what I found
This little fair, laying on the ground
I picked her up and to my surprise
She stretched her arms and opened her eyes

Her little face, it was so sweet
She had just woken up from her sleep
She said "hello" my name is belle
I am a little sad.. can you tell

I got lost you see, and I am in fear
I just don't know how I got here
I live in the forest, where no one knows
With elves and pixies and garden gnomes

I was flying around to sprinkle fairy dust
When all of a sudden there was this huge gust
The wind picked up and it swirled me around
And I ended up here.. laying on the ground

Now I had to think hard and long
To get her home where she belongs
I will do my best to get you home
To the pixies and elves and garden gnome

So off we went, no time to loose
But which forest should I choose
I picked the one that was as near as can be
With Belle in my pocket, so she could see

Oh look over there, said my little friend
A little bit further, its just round the bend
So here we are home, safe at last
The elves and pixies playing in the grass

Belle was so pleased and started to sing
See over there, that's my fairy ring
I gave a smile I was so relieved

I know fairies are real " I do believe"

LOL!!!
PLEASE DON'T TELL MY HUSBAND...
I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH MY MAILMAN!

It's official! As of last Saturday I have totally fallen head over heals for my Mailman. His name is Mr. Wonderful (aka, Mike). Now I don't have to worry about calling my husband by the wrong name since it's the same as the Mailmans!

Let's start at the beginning. If you and I have ever met either in person or via the internet you probably already know that my lifelong dream has been to have my home featured in a magazine. I was honored last fall when Harris Publications did a wonderful feature on my Pink Fairy Cottage. But.... I still was holding onto the hope that one day they would take photos of the most important space in my life ~ the inside of my home ~ and show it to the world.

For the people who know me well ~ tooting my own horn is difficult. However, I must share my dream come true with all of you. This is a definite PINCH ME MOMENT! COUNTRY VICTORIAN MAGAZINE has featured my humble abode in September's issue. Although not on the new stands until next week, my favorite mailman (Mike) brought me a copy early.

It is beyond amazing to see these beautiful photographs of my home actually in print. Even I can't believe I live here. I've always had the opinion that my house was beautiful and friends have seemed to agree. But seeing it showcased in a magazine takes on a whole new meaning. Words cannot describe it. It is an honor to be able to share this feature with all of you. I hope you enjoy it as much I do.

OH MARIE!

I found this wonderful vintage picture of Marie Antoinette. I thought you all might enjoy it. She is set in a 3-D type vintage box-style frame. I have taken aqua silk ribbon and wrapped it around the four edges and made a beautiful bow for hanging. She is just lovely and would be perfect amongst your romantic, cottage decor. She is available on my website under the "Marie Antoinette" boutique. Click HERE to find her.

FRENCH ETCHED APOTHECARY
&
VINTAGE FAN

I found these gorgeous French etched Apothecary jars and Perfume bottles a few weeks ago. I was chomping at the bit until I had time to frill them up. Finally on Saturday I turned on the glue gun and went to town. Yup, burned two fingers doing it too! Ouch and blisters.

I love the way they came out. Today I'm back down at my Glitz and Glam station dreaming up a few more wreaths and hopefully beginning some holiday treasures I have in mind.

I also posted a pic of the coolest vintage fan I found on my antiquing trip two weeks ago. These are the hottest new item and was shown on the spring cover of Romantic Homes. It's on my website for sale.

See you all in the blogesphere and have a great day everyone.

HOW WAS YOUR SUMMER WEEKEND?

SHOW AND TELL MONDAY IS HERE...

Another wonderful old treasure turned into a new and pretty Vanity or Tea Tray. Of course, I forgot to take "Before" pictures once again.

I purchased this lovely OLD tray at a Consignment shop while visiting a friend this spring. The glass was broken and it was a dark wood, but it was all original. A beautifully ornate frame with brass handles. How could I resist the thought of reviving this lovely.

The vintage wallpaper came from Heather's boutique, "Pretty Petals". When it arrived, I just knew what piece I was going to use for this gorgeous tray. The color blue and the gorgeous swirls of rose vines were just perfect for this project. Linen white paint and vintage, satin gathered trim was placed all along the bottom of the tray. I'm almost running out of this trim which I use on everything ~ and I don't know where I'll ever find it again! I'm keeping my eyes open at every estate sale and auction I attend.

Four glass feet placed on the underside of the tray gave it the final "touch of elegance" which will keep it sitting about one inch high off your vanity or tea table. So pretty and a "One-of-A-Kind" treasures from Treasured Heirlooms boutique.

What do you think of the finished treasure? I'd love to hear your comments and have a great blogging day ladies.
