SWEET CANDY SHOPPE

The "Visions of Sugarplums, Sweet Candy Shop" is a feast for the senses. It is playful, whimsical, fun and looks so tempting you may think you can eat it, BUT you can't. Lots of sugar, no calories.

A gorgeous combination of soft peachy/pink bottle brush wreaths and a glittered heart join together with creamy winter white and gold treasures.

MARIE ANTOINETTE'S AFTERNOON
TEA PARTY

I have been dreaming of creating a one-of-a-kind, elegant, lace, tea set for years. This stunning, tea set is exactly what I had imagined it would look like and more. Beginning with a gorgeous vintage teapot, teacup, tray and teaspoon my imagination took over and I began to add exquisite elements of Venetian appliques, vintage pink chiffon, antique French lace, and stunning pieces of vintage jewels and rhinestones.

SOLD OUT

The base is a footed silver tray which has been adorned with antique French lace and trims over sweet pale pink chiffon. The teapot and teacup are adorned with gorgeous matching lace and appliques. Gold hearts and rhinestones are a perfect touch.

The palest of pink rosebuds which I have created from clay,  decorate the delicate, glittered sugar cubes.

I am so proud of this perfectly bedazzled gold teaspoon. Elegantly embellished with vintage rhinestones and a pearl cluster completed this romantic vignette.

Imagine how beautiful this would look decorating a sideboard, a dining table, or a centerpiece adorning your table at a bridal shower, tea party or holiday gathering. Not to mention it will be a stunning piece to display year round.

Hi Everyone

I can't believe how long it's been since I have blogged. Between hurting my back, running to the chiropractor and learning how to walk again, it's been a very long time since I have been able to actually sit without pain and create.

My poor garden has been so neglected this summer as well as my housework. In addition to getting back on my feet (literally) I had a root canal a week ago that has once again knocked me off my feet. The very hot summer hasn't helped my inspiration much either, BUT, I am moving forward and finally having a chance to list some of the pretties I created while resting these past few months.

I've finally been able to create some lovely tea stained, tattered, and torn, vintage linen and lace pretties for my shops. I hope you all love them as much as I enjoyed creating them. Beautiful tattered and torn items have been "all the rage" for quite some time now, but I am a Pink girly girl at heart so it has taken me a bit of awhile to be able to wrap my creative mind this lovely trend.

I do think I'm enjoying it quite a bit now and hope to be sharing lots more pretties with you throughout the Fall and upcoming holiday season. Here are a few of the items you can find right now in my shop.

Just poke around and you will find them as "newly listed" in different categories @

TGIF

To all my fellow followers and dearest friends, I have missed you. It has been over a month since I have had the opportunity to blog. Three weeks ago TODAY, I was gently pulling a few weeds in the garden and when I stood up, suddenly I felt like someone had cut off my right leg with a sword. Seriously.... this was some of the worst pain I had ever experienced.

I crawled into the house, took some Tylenol and grabbed and ice pack. After several hours trying to get the pain to subside, I knew I had to go to the Emergency Room. A quick ambulance ride, an equally quick exam, a script and I was on my way home (some three hours later). Lucky me really did it this time. My lower back and right leg have been numb and in pain for three weeks. I have however, managed to get myself to my doctor, had x-rays and have begun PT. With that said, my couch is about the only place I have been (other than to the bathroom! LOL) for quite some time.

I have found myself addicted to Pinterest and am making myself even crazier than I already was by pinning all the gorgeous items created by fellow artists. The DIY and plethora of Tutorials are overwhelming and I am just dying to get back to creating. Unfortunately that probably won't happen for quite a few more weeks. I need to get rest and take it easy in order to get back to my energetic self and create all the designs swirling in my head right now. I can't sleep at night just thinking about all the pretties I want to make. I know you know what I mean!

Until then, I hope you all enjoy your weekend and are enjoying the warm weather. We New Englanders have no clue what that feels like because it was still cold enough to turn on the heat this week! Cold and rain, a few minutes of sun, then cold and rain. Maybe one of these days it will warm up and stay warm at least for a few weeks before Fall comes and rears it cold and cloudy head again!

Take care and enjoy yourselves and think of me while you are partying, dancing, grilling, creating, visiting friends and family, yada yada yada! xo

Seasonal Sunday

Don't Forget you still have time to purchase a lovely gift for Mother's Day!

Welcome to my first garden post of the season. Although it is extremely cold and rainy here in Boston, I did manage to get my vintage bike painted and the basket filled with lovely herbs and annuals. I have been waiting to be able to get in the garden this year, but other than raking leaves and pruning, my NEW PINK BIKE is the closest I've gotten to be able to bring some beauty to my yard.

I just love the look of my new pink bike sitting in the front of my house just waiting for warmer weather to give those pretty posies the boost of heat they need to grow and spill over the top of the basket. Honestly, I just can't wait for it to stop raining for the temperature to rise a bit. I'm still in my flannel p.j.'s if you can believe that!

I hope wherever you live the temperature is more like spring or summer than it is here! Ughh.

I also wanted to show off the two newest bracelets in my collection. I'm really enjoying the relaxation of creating jewelry again. Especially working with vintage pieces and old lace. I'm just thrilled at the way this collection is progressing.

Cathy Scalise Jewelry Collections

I've decided to go back to my early days when I used to create and sell jewelry. My new line of jewelry is called the "Cathy Scalise Jewelry Collection".

This is my first piece in the "new" collection and there will be many more to come. All vintage and perfect for all ages, any style outfit from casual to elegant. A lovely gift for yourself, Mother, sister, or a dear friend. Two crocheted vintage doilies are the focal point of this statement piece. I have added a gorgeous AB Topaz colored rhinestone brooch to the center, a vintage pair of pearl and crystal earrings (one on each side), rose colored pearls, rhinestones, and vintage lace.

The necklace chain is made from two vintage pieces, a pearl necklace and a gold beaded necklace. Together the gave me a perfect way to accentuate the main piece. This necklace, as with ALL of my creations, are One-of-a-Kind and never duplicated. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Find it here at Treasured Heirlooms boutique.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

EASTER EGG CARTON SWAP
PART TWO

My second package arrived yesterday from my sweet swap partner Marian Hicks. You know how when you open the lid of a box and your heart starts racing because all you can see is your favorite colors bursting out? Well, that's what it was like for me. But, that was just the beginning as you can see from my scrumptious photos below Marian spoiled me rotten and I loved every minute of it.

All I can say to Marian is thank you, thank you, thank you for making this swap so much fun. Happy Easter my friend.

Just look at these glorious treasures. Everything from vintage jewels, to candy, vintage ribbon to adorable mushrooms. The variety of treasures were spectacular and believe it or not, I've already used some of my goodies. And of course, I ate the chocolate immediately! Yum.

Marian and I were well suited partners to say the least. This is what I sent her and I so enjoyed making it. Definitely in my element with the color scheme. So pastel and so springy.

A big thank you to Cassandra for hosting this wonderful swap! Happy Easter Cassi! xo

HAPPY THURSDAY

Cassandra from An Artful Adventure hosted a adorable Easter Egg Carton swap several weeks ago. Each of us had two partners. We had to paint and decorate an Egg Carton, fill it up with awesome treasures, wrap it really pretty and send it off to our Easter Partners. We choose our favorite themes, favorite colors and things we love to collect and craft with. I had a blast.

Let me share with you what I sent to Robin Martin and what great treasures she sent to me. This was so much fun because Robin loves Retro and bright colors which took me right out of my comfort zone immediately, but I had a blast creating for her.

Look at the wonderful Easter Egg Carton I received from Robin. Lots and lots of fun treasures from pastel ribbons, to a pink rhinestone bling. A beautifully hand made gift card and a wonderful vintage Easter Ephemera Post Card (which I LOVE). My favorite item in my secret package was that yellow and rhinestone RING. Yup, it's a ring, it fits me perfect and I can't wait to wear it.

A lovely glittery rhinestone brooch adorned the top of the box and there was a stunning pink crochet and pearls Easter egg inside. I know exactly where I will be tucking my lovely treasures.
Thank you Robin for all your goodies.
Happy Easter to you and enjoy your Retro Treasures.

Well my little peeps, I'll be posting my other swap partner's goodies and the fabu lot of treasures I received from her tomorrow just in time for Easter and Pink Saturday.
Til then, have a great day ladies.
