"PRINCESS SIENNA TURNS TWO"

"Princess Sienna" is the daughter of my close friend and business consultant, Sabrina Velandry. Last weekend our "Little Princess" turned two. For her birthday, "Auntie Cathy" made her a very pink and very magical "Tiara and Fairy Wand". Pink and sparkly as always, the Princess looked divine in her birthday finery.

Her adorable tiara graced her head long enough for her to blow out the candles on her lovingly, home-made birthday cake. Daddy wasn't quite the expert at putting on frosting, thus Sienna had what is now known as the "Cookies and Creme" cake. Lots of bits and pieces of chocolate cake mixed in with white frosting gave this One-of-A-Kind cake it's name and will be known forever as such. Princess Sienna didn't mind one bit because at the ripe old age of "2" ANYTHING SWEET is GOOD!

SPRING IS ON IT'S WAY, I HOPE...

These last eight weeks of winter have been extremely cold, snowy and blustery. It has made it almost impossible to think. I told my husband right after the holidays that to be prepared for the hum drum feeling that comes on around March and April when we want so much to go outside and begin our planting, but the ground is still frozen solid and temps are still frigid.

Our warm vacation has to be canceled since one third of the employees of my husband's office was layed off last week and luckily for us he wasn't one of them. However, that means he HAS to be around and ready for anything for the next 6-8 months so his own job stays secure. A small price to pay in order to be safe in knowing he has a job and we have health coverage.

The hardest part for me has been trying to think clearly. I so desperately want to sit and create all the new ideas that I have written on notepads all around the house, lists I've saved on the computer, and magazines which I have torn pages from so I "don't forget" a wonderful idea. But the cold and winter really takes a toll on my body and my brain. Who knew getting older would be so challenging! lol

I moved my Glitz and Glam station to my basement which is still a bit cold and damp even with a warm space heater on which leaves my desire to go down there to a bare minimum. I want to paint so very much, but base coating must be done outside and the paint freezes before it hits the object. The weatherman did say temps are on the rise and we should expect warmer temperatures this week, somewhere in the 40s. Wohooo!

Yesterday I was flipping through my garden photos and decided this would be a perfect time to put together an uplifting slide show of what is yet to come for myself and everyone who enjoys my blog.

The mere thought of knowing spring and summer are right around the corner and our next two seasons makes me giddy. Digging in the dirt and throwing seeds, planting pumpkins and filling hundreds of pots with annuals will bring back all the wonders of a new gardening year. Hundreds of pictures will be taken as "treasured heirlooms" of my time spent enjoying the fruits of my labor and beauty which comes from a new years planting. I look forward to sowing the seeds sent to me from my close friends, cutting back overgrown beauties and sharing all these delights with my gardening neighbors.

Plans for a Garden Tea Party are in the works too. I will be posting more on "Planning a Garden Tea" over the next several months. Once I wrap my brain around the event. In the meantime, enjoy my Spring Slide show and think warm and happy thoughts for all of us located in the colder climes.

PINK POLKA DOT BUNNY

I have been fighting a terrible head cold this past week and have so much wanted to blog. I figured not too many of you wanted to hear about my cold (because most of you have one of your own), so I decided to wait until I felt better.

Well a couple of days ago I received a package in the mail. I waited until this morning to open in because I wanted to have the chance to enjoy it with a clear head. Well.... I just adore it. My pink polka dotted Bunny box handmade by the wonderful and talented Miss Rhea. I absolutely love her creations. They are beautiful, one-of-a-kind eye candy. She uses the perfect pastels colors in her creations and they are always a treasure to receive.

When you have a chance, jump over to her blog or her Etsy Shop and enjoy!

THEMED WREATHS ~ MY NEW "NICHE"

Marie Antoinette Wreath
"LET THEM EAT CAKE"

I have been thinking about this wreath since last year when I saw the movie and all of my creative friends were designing their "Marie" book and sending it around the world. I was so inspired, I feverishly began to collect items that I thought would look perfect on a wreath. I finally had the complete vision "in my head" and had the time to create this lovely work of art. I am thrilled with the way it came out. I hope you all enjoy it too.

I will be adding "Themed Wreaths" to my website as my new market "niche". I am quite excited and have tons of ideas on the drawing table. Keep your eyes peeled for new an exciting treasures added daily at Treasured Heirlooms boutique.

I AM SO LUCKY!

It is so darn much fun blogging with the amazingly creative ladies on the web. There is always something gorgeous to see, a swap to join, trinkets and treasures to purchase or a CONTEST to enter. Did someone say "Contest"?

Well, I love those contests and look what I won from Cheryl at Rosey Posey Confections. I just received it in the mail and it put the biggest smile on my face and gave me a tingle in my heart. It is absolutely perfect. The pink glittered heart with a beautiful vintage bone china doll tucked inside.

I just popped over to her blog and low and behold more stunning eye-candy. Please run over to blog to see all of her beautiful treasures and pictures, then link right over to her Etsy shoppe and pick up some of her wonderful creations. Her tussies are 2DIE4. You just have to see them to believe it!

GLITZ AND GLAM EIFFEL TOWER

My newest creation from my "Glitz and Glam" work station. An amazing Eiffel Tower takes on a wonderfully unique transformation. The spectacular thing about this funky piece of artwork is that EVERY PIECE on it can be "Removed and Used" or kept exactly where it is and displayed as a Conversation Piece.

A tall, metal Eiffel Tower was given a complete coating of German Glass Glitter in Silver, then Swarovski Crystals were added around the center arches for more shine. Then the decorating began: vintage French necklaces, superb rhinestone brooches & chockers (mint condition), beautiful earrings, loads of gift tags, black beaded shoe clips, a huge beaded tassle, miniature shoes, fufus and clip-on earrings were used to create this funky piece of artwork. Topping it off with a wonderful Vintage Spaghetti Poodle.

I love the way it came out and being able to remove all the pretties and display it as a simple, glittery, tres chic Eiffel Tower is Manufique!

OOOLALA ~ ALTERED ART ~ "PARIS CHIC" WREATH!

I have been collecting antique trinkets and treasures for this gorgeous "Paris" wreath for several weeks while I was mulling around the best "design" in my head. After giving much thought as to which direction to go in for the final design ~ I decided to "just go for it" and start the creative process. This lovely is the finished product of my first "Paris-inspired", "Altered-Art" wreaths. I have several more on the design board just waiting to be put together. I know you are going to just love each and every One-of-a-Kind creation.

Although the picture doesn't do this lovely justice, I assure you, it won't disappoint. Pink Poodles, silver glitter, antique "French " lady sepia photos, bird cages, vintage jewels, mirrors, tags, ribbons, lace, doves, shoes, beaded bags, rhinestones and lace are only some of the many heirloom treasures which give this ONE-OF-A-KIND lovely ~ its character.

If you love "Paris Chic", this is a VA VA VOOM Wreath that's a MUST HAVE. I will be adding many more Altered Art wreaths in the coming months. Each one will have its very own Theme and be an "Original" design from Treasured Heirloom studios.

I hope you or someone you love can enjoy this amazing creation!
