My Little Chicks Easter Wreath

I had so much fun creating this beautiful Easter Chicks Wreath. I made one similar to it two years ago and over 8,000 people have marked it as a "favorite" on my Flickr page. That was enough motivation for me to make another one.

My first order of business was to find vintage, early 1900 Easter ephemera post and greeting cards. Once I got my hands on some amazing cards in mint condition, the process began. All of the ephemera are from 1912, except one is a reproduction.

Bluebird nests, vintage nut cups, bird's eggs of all colors, faux sweets, tulle, lace, spring satin flowers, paper roses, beautiful hydrangea, chenille chicks, Forget-me-Nots, pearls, beads, a touch of glitter here and there, and of course the focal point, a vintage "Lefton" chick all grace this one-of-a-kind Spring Easter wreath.

I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed making it for you. 16" dia.

JUST WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT......

Something wonderful shows up at your front doorstep!

Yesterday I was on my way to do errands, I opened my front door and low and behold was a big brown box with hot pink tape on it. I had no idea what it could have been and didn't recognize the return address. But.... when I opened the box I was treated to the most amazing Valentine's presents from one of my dearest friends, Cynthia.

I met Cynthia at the Petticoats & Parasols Art Event in Savannah last April and we instantly became close friends. Although Cynthia lives in Los Angeles and I live as far away as possible here in Massachusetts ~ we are always thinking of each other.

We are two Magical Fairies that have so many of the same loves in life. Yummy Cupcakes, Anything Pink, Pretty Jewelry, Fun Clothes AND we both love to make Gourmet Chocolates. Cynthia has her own Pastry and Chocolate business in Los Angeles called "Classic Chocolates by Cynthia". Her work is sheer perfection. You must call Cynthia @ (213)-500-1493 if you need anything sweet for any event. She creates over-the-top cakes, adorable cupcakes and anything chocolate you can imagine.

Here are some photos of what my sweet friend sent to me yesterday!

And a bag of Pastel Pink Paper Roses to use on my Wreaths.

Thank you so my Sweet Cynthia for making my Valentine's Day the best ever. Now I can go eat everything!
Yeahhhhhhhhhhh.

PAYING IT FORWARD

There are so many amazing artists out there and I just love it when I happen upon a blog where someone is "Paying it Forward" by letting me know of another great artist/blogger I might want to read about.

So, today, I'm introducing you to my newest friend and Artist, Michelle, from "Looking Glass".

Michelle and her daughter Danielle hand-paint and create unique jewelry with "Guitar Picks". I had never heard of them before I noticed her wearing a gorgeous pair last week. I couldn't wait to blog about Michelle, Danielle and their gorgeous, and "very affordable" jewelry.

Here is a little about Michelle and two photos of her earrings Just click on a photo to purchase a pair.

"At Looking Glass we know you want your own unique style. Let our guitar pick earrings help you define that passion in your life! Thank you, Michelle & Danielle
